This webinar provides a basic understanding of the what open technical standards are, why standards are important, and how they are developed.

patricia-gerdonPatricia Gerdon has been with IEEE for 18 years. She began her career in the IEEE Standards Association as a Program Manager, Technical Program Development, in this role she worked extensively with working groups supporting them throughout the standards development process, and as a Program Administration Manager, managing the IEEE’s role in the Intelligent Transportation Systems Cooperative Agreement with the Federal Highway overseeing a $15 million dollar grant. In her current role as the Standards Education Manager, she is responsible for the development and coordination of the SA strategic education initiatives, with special focus on the initiative to build and maintain an SA community education program. Tricia holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Stockton State University, Pomona, NJ, and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Business Administration program at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ.
